My name is Vicki, aka The Hangry Explorer and I hope you enjoy joining me on some of my adventures. From my local county of Dorset, to the incredible mountains of Canada – I love being in nature and absorbing the peace and tranquillity that comes with it.
Although I live in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK, I’ve been guilty of not taking the time to appreciate many of the local sights. I’ve found myself absorbed in the daily grind, frustrated with the continuous cycle of endless traffic and work days that overflow into my evenings and weekends.
I’ve come to the realisation that how I perceive the area I live in, and the joy I gain from my hobbies and free time is completely within my control. It’s long overdue that I start to explore the local county and beyond as much as I possibly can.
The Hangry Explorer was created to share my microadventures, travel and activities with like-minded people, and most importantly, to hold myself accountable to exploring as much as possible!
I hope you find my posts inspiring, as the content grows with the adventures, I aim to share my itineraries, hidden gems, favourite coffee and food stops and useful tips such as parking and toilet facilities for walks!
I’ve been lucky enough to call Dorset my home since I was three. However, it’s only in recent years that I’ve truly come to appreciate the beauty it beholds.
Dorset is located on the South Coast of the UK and it’s home to the breath taking Jurassic Coast. The towns of Bournemouth, Poole, Swanage, Bridport, Lyme Regis and Dorchester are all located in the county – which all have their own charm. I like to try and mix up my walks with visits to some towns and villages too, especially in search of good food and coffee.
As my blog begins to grow, you’ll see more of what Dorset has to offer, for now, you can see where I’ve visited on the map. You can also use the Visit Dorset website to plan your Dorset Adventure.
